'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7 News: Ian Somerhalder Talks About His Marriage

Ever since Nina's departure from "The Vampire Diaries" and the end of Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder's relationship, fans are still curious about the fate of their favorite actors.

Nina Dobrev left The CW series last year, which left fans heartbroken when they found out that she will no longer be taking on the role of Elena. However, it was reported that her character still plays a vital role in the storyline of the series.

With that, there has been speculation that Dobrev will be returning to the series. According to Collider, the executive producer of the series, Caroline Dries, recently shared some interesting insight about Dobrev's potential return. She said, "I would say that, if The CW called today and was like, 'By the way, Season 7 is the last season,' then I think we would scramble to make sure that she was in the finale. But as of right now, we're acting like the show will go on, so no."
