'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7 Spoilers: Stefan and Caroline Not on Speaking Terms, New Villain to Join Show
It's finally 2016, which means "The Vampire Diaries" fans will only have to wait a few more days until the series returns to the small screen. The supernatural drama television show is currently on its seventh run. And after the events of the winter break finale, the storyline will make a three-year time jump.
According to Movie News Guide, the series has revealed who among the characters will still be around after the time jump, and these include Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola). However, the two are no longer speaking to each other, making "Steroline" fans anxious about how their relationship will turnout in the end.
As detailed by Melty, Stefan will be with Valerie while Caroline will be engaged to Alaric and live together with their twin daughters, who are actually Jo and Alaric's children.
Showrunner Julie Plec spoke to Variety about the turn out of events for ''Steroline." She said, "Stefan and Caroline were supposed to be in this beautiful relationship and yet, we saw in the beginning of the season that she refused to speak with him and now he's with Valerie. You have to ask the question: What came first, her fury or his new relationship?"
The source also mentioned that Stefan and Caroline's relationship will be go through difficulties especially with the kind of friendship that Stefan shares with Valerie. Executive producer Caroline Dries shares to TVLine that the two characters still have a lot of backstory that fans have yet to know.
In other news, a new face is set to join the show. According to Design & Trend, followers of "Vampire Diaries" season 7 will meet a new vampire hunter named Rayna. The character will be played by actress Leslie-Ann Huff, who coincidentally is referred by many to look a lot like Nina Dobrev who played as Elena Gilbert. There are reports that Huff got her role because of her physical similarity to Dobrev but Dries denied the rumors.
Sources also say that Huff will be playing a villainous role and will mainly come after Stefan. There's no confirmation yet why she would go after Stefan but rumors say that she's out to seek revenge.
"Vampire Diaries" season 7 will air on Jan. 29 on The CW.
