'The Voice' Season 10 Cast News: Is Gwen Stefani Coming Back For Season 10?

Fans of Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have gone gaga over the "Voice" coaches' romance, which apparently bloomed during the pair's stint as co-judges in the show's ninth season. Given that the Gwen-Blake relationship has caused the reality TV singing competition's viewership to spike, as Nielsen confirmed in 2015, it's highly unlikely that NBC would simply let the 46-year-old singer-songwriter slip away.

Stefani stood in for "The Voice" coach Christina Aguilera in Season 9, but Aguilera is set to reclaim her role in Season 10.

Fortunately for Gwen and Blake's fans, NBC has confirmed that Stefani will be back in the show at some point, though neither NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt nor NBC Alternative & Late Night Programming president Paul Telegdy could say when this would occur, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Could Gwen, perhaps, show up as an adviser in Season 10?

"We're announcing those advisers in the next couple of weeks but she's very close to the show," Greenblatt responded.

Could she, perhaps, return as a coach? Could "The Voice" have, for the first time in 10 seasons, have two female coaches at the same time?

While Telegdy said that he "would love to" have that, NBC has no official plans to do that - yet.

"I think it's about the right mix, and that's a party I'd love to be invited to if I was in any way musically talented," the NBC executive answered.  He added that it was all about finding the right combination.

"We'd love to see Gwen back," Telegdy said. The NBC boss, who is in charge of "The Voice," added, "She's a great friend of this network, we love her, the audience loves her, lots of people love her."

Though he couldn't confirm Stefani's return to the show, Telegdy did reassure fans that coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will be back and that neither has ever said anything about wanting to exit "The Voice."

"They'll be back in the fall 100%," he said.

The tenth season of "The Voice" premieres Monday, Feb. 29, on NBC.
