'The Walking Dead' Fan Shares Heartbreaking Tribute to Chandler Riggs' Carl Grimes

Fans of "The Walking Dead" had the biggest surprise of their lives when Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) was killed off in the eighth season of the AMC zombie apocalypse series. Recently, a fan made and released a touching video dedicated to the character, touching the heart of Carl Grimes' fans around the world.

Titled "Shelter," the tribute video was uploaded by YouTube user Jessielegend and features the relationships between Carl and his parents, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies). At this point in the series, Rick is the only one left alive in their family, with Michonne (Danai Gurira) previously stepping in as his partner and Carl's mother figure.

The season 8 midseason finale saw Carl in his final moments. When the series returns for the second half of the season, fans can expect to see Rick's son ultimately bid goodbye to the series. His death came as a shock to everyone since the character is still alive in the comics and is gearing up to follow the footsteps of his father as the leader of the survivors.

Riggs joined the series when he was 10 years old. For eight long years, fans have seen him grow from a vulnerable child to a courageous soul who fights with the other survivors. Considering the length of time he has been in the series, it is understandable why the final moments of the midseason finale broke the heart of "The Walking Dead" fans.

Meanwhile, Riggs recently shared a photo of him with his new hairstyle. Since the third season of "The Walking Dead," the young actor has never cut his hair. Now that his character has already been killed off in "The Walking Dead," Riggs took the opportunity to get rid of his locks and trim his hair back to its normal length.

"The Walking Dead" season 8 returns on Feb. 26 on AMC.
