The creator of "The Walking Dead," Robert Kirkman, recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about how Negan, as well as the other new characters, will affect Rick and the group. He stated, "I think the Saviors are dangerously organized. The Wolves were psychotic, the Hunters [the group from Terminus] had a lot of weaknesses. When it comes to the Saviors, and Negan in particular, the way I've always thought about this in the comics is this is a group that's led by a guy who's had his morality dial a few clicks away from Rick toward the darker aspects of his personality."

Kirkman also described Negan as a smart and capable leader who will be a contrast to Rick and his values. With that, he hinted that they will not be prepared to deal with the Saviors, which will bring an interesting turn of events.

"The Walking Dead" season 6 returns on AMC this Feb. 14.
