'The Walking Dead' Spoilers: New Teaser Revealed at 2017 New York Comic Con

"The Walking Dead" fans in attendance at the New York Comic Con panel for the show were treated to a sneak peek into the eighth and upcoming season ahead of the premiere.

Executive producers and the well-loved cast members of "The Walking Dead" attended the panel at the 2017 NYCC on Sunday night to drop a few details about the eighth season. And as expected of these conventions, a video teaser was shown to audiences.

The clip started with Carl (Chandler Riggs) scavenging for supplies around a dilapidated gas station. During his search, a man's voice, seemingly nearby, catches his attention. Gun drawn, he proceeds to explore the area while the man narrates a strange story about how his mother used to teach him some manners.

Carl then drops down on the ground to peer through the small gap between the cars. When he sees a man's foot, he gets on his feet and slowly approaches the man from around the corner. The screen fades to black as soon as he faces the man and learns of his identity.

Executive producer David Alpert shared that this particular episode was filmed almost exactly alike from an episode in the past. As to what that particular episode is, he did not say. But he did admit that the season premiere, which marks the 100th episode of the series, will be composed of throwbacks like this.

Creator Robert Kirkman also had a massive announcement at the convention. He said that a crossover between "The Walking Dead" and its spinoff series "Fear the Walking Dead" is in the works. He said that one character from one of the shows would crossover to the other. In addition, he said that it would be a "huge event" in "The Walking Dead" universe.

The 2017 New York Comic Convention took place from Oct. 5 to Oct. 8 at the Javits Center.

"The Walking Dead" season 8 opens with the show's 100th episode on Sunday, Oct. 22 on AMC.
