'The X-Files' Revival News: What Happens After the Six Episodes?
With the upcoming revival of "The X-Files" soon approaching, star of the series recently shared some details about his plans for the show.
After 13 years, fans of the hit series "The X-Files" will soon be seeing their favorite characters back in the small screen. However, there has been the question of what is to come to the series after its six-episode rival season.
One of the show's actors, David Duchovny, recently opened up about his sentiments regarding the series. According to an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, it seems as though Duchovny is looking forward to the future of the series. He expressed his desire to continue starring the series beyond the upcoming six episodes.
However, he also explained that before it can be confirmed that the revival will go beyond the episodes to come, the decision will come from those behind the series. He said, "Chris Carter says it depends on David and Gillian [Anderson]. David says it depends on Chris and Gillian. Gillian says it depends on Chris and David. That's where we're at. We'll all try to figure out our schedules and our needs. We're not young actors without any responsibilities anymore. We have lives. We're as far apart from each other as we can [be] — not for that reason. So it's tough. It was tough to just get these six down."
Meanwhile, Gillian Anderson also shared her insights about the future of the series during an interview with SFX Magazine. She explained that while it is possible, it is unlikely to happen. She stated, "We have to see how it does and if people are enthusiastic about it and have the same interest."
Nevertheless, fans will just have to wait for the upcoming "The X-Files" revival to see if the series will go beyond the new six episodes. "The X-Files" revival will premiere on FOX this Jan. 24 and 25.
