'The Young and the Restless' Casting News, Spoilers: Michael Muhney Joins 'General Hospital?'
"The Young and the Restless" fans may have an answer to the endless rumors surrounding Michael Muhney's firing from the role of Adam Newman.
Muhney last appeared on "Y&R" in January after being let go amidst sexual harassment allegations. The actor has since been rumored to be considering returning to the soap opera after it was revealed that his character is still alive. However, reports this week indicate that Muhney may be headed to a different soap opera altogether - "General Hospital."
In addition to the latest reports, Muhney was recently seen interacting via Twitter with "GH" star Rich Hearst who portrays Rich Lansing. The conversation on social media leads many fans to believe that the pair of actors hit it off while on the set of "GH."
"@rickhearst @soapdigest @carlivatron is Ron Carlivati I agree with every word of this article. Well done, Rock. #TalentNoDoubt," Muhney posted.
"Many thanks Michael," Hearst replied. "Appreciate the shout out!"
Even further adding to the beliefs that Muhney could be headed to "GH," his mother recently dismissed speculation that her son was returning to "Y&R."
"I hate to dash anyone's hopes, but those aren't Michael's hands on Y&R," Muhney's mother tweeted on June 17, according to Celebrity Dirty Laundry. "His tweets have NOTHING to do with the show."
Furthermore, the actor's mother addressed the report that suggested Muhney had groped his co-star Hunter King ahead of his firing.
"Michael gave the answers to his exit in his last interview," she wrote on Twitter. "As to tumors - gossip rags quoted an anonymous fan who posted on a message board. Silly. There's never a need to comment on rumors. They're neverending!"
Meanwhile, "Y&R" fans remain divided over Muhney's firing, with many viewers even boycotting the soap and campaigning for Muhney's return. Notwithstanding, Muhney has remained silent about the drama surrounding his firing aside from a cryptic tweet posted earlier this year.
"Benjamin Franklin said it best. 'Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see' … and that quote doesn't only apply to what is being said about ME. It also applies to others. Please be kind to everyone. #respect," the actor shared around the same time as his firing.
