'Thor: Ragnarok' News: New 'Thor' Movie Will Start Filming Next Summer in Australia

The third film of the hit movie franchise "Thor" will finally begin its pre-production early next year, and will start the filming, which is scheduled next summer in Australia.

Marvel has confirmed that "Thor: Ragnarok" will be filming in Queensland, Australia, and the Australian state's premier, Annastacia Palaszczuk, said that she is thrilled that the movie studio chose Queensland. "As our economy diversifies, Queensland is demonstrating its strength as a lead destination for filmmakers both internationally and locally, and my government is doing what it can to ensure that Queensland remains a global hub for the screen sector," Palaszczuk said, according to Marvel. The premier also added that Marvel is planning to "spend more than $100 million AUD in Queensland." She also added that the movie studio will hire over 750 Queensland crew.

According to Movie Web, the film will be shot at various locations throughout Queensland, which will include scenes from the Village Roadshow Studios. Marvel Studio's co-president, Louis D'Esposito, said that they are excited to have Queensland as a backdrop for the third "Thor" movie. He also thanked the Queensland Government for "helping to make this a reality."

On the other hand, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) will be joining forces with his "Avengers" teammate, the Incredible Hulk, in "Thor: Ragnarok." According to Screen Rant, the Hulk will surely help Thor in a battle taking place off-Earth. Another speculation about the Hulk's role in "Thor: Ragnarok" is saying that Thor will recruit the green giant to help him save the universe, while another is saying that Thor will have to rescue the Hulk who's been taken off-Earth by Loki.

Whatever the Hulk's role will be in "Thor: Ragnarok," Mark Ruffalo, the actor who plays Bruce Banner, promises that the on-screen banter between the Hulk and Thor will be fun, especially having Taika Waititi as the movie's director. "It'll have that kind of antagonistic Odd Couple-thing going on," the actor teased during his interview with USA Today.
