'Thor: Ragnarok' News, Release Date: New Sneak Peeks Offer Plenty of Comedy, Action
"Thor: Ragnarok" is just a few days away, and Marvel is already ramping up promotional efforts for their next outing. Over the weekend, the studio released a new sneak peek for the film during the most recent episode of the Marvel series "The Inhumans," which aired on ABC last Friday.
In the new two-minute sneak peek, the studio offers fans a glimpse of how chaotic the entire universe will get once Hela (Cate Blanchett), the Asgardian Goddess of Death, arrives in her bid to rule over the planet Earth. The upcoming film will find Hela destroying Thor's (Chris Hemsworth) powerful hammer Mjolnir to take advantage of the God of Thunder's weakness, while Thor will form an all-star team consisting of Marvel's mightiest superheroes to defend the universe against the new villain.
The synopsis for the film reveals that Thor's team will be comprised of Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner a.k.a Hulk, Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie, Tom Hiddleston's Loki, and Taika Waititi's Korg. Together, they will use their robust forces to take down Hela in an epic cosmic battle.
Meanwhile, Comicbook also recently released another sneak peek for "Thor: Ragnarok," kicking off with Thor trying to get the voice activation controls of a ship to grant him access. The hilarious clip also features Banner and Korg, who play a quip about rock, paper, and scissors. One part of the clip also shows Thor and Banner explaining why they call themselves "The Revengers" while trying to convince Valkyrie to join them.
While the first part of the sneak peek focuses on the comical side of the film, the second half puts the emphasis back on the action sequences, as it heavily features Hela when she engages in a climactic battle sequence with Thor and the rest of the team.
"Thor: Ragnarok" is set to hit theaters on Nov. 3.
