'Thor: Ragnarok' Updates: Mark Ruffalo Will Be Back as the Hulk
It is unknown on how Bruce Banner will return on the Marvel Cinematic Universe since fans saw him disappear after "The Avengers: Age of Ultron." However, recent updates said that the Hulk will be back to join forces with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in the third film of the series.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mark Ruffalo is currently in negotiations with Marvel to play the character of the Hulk/Bruce Banner for a major role in the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok." The website added that he will join Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and Jamie Alexander (Lady Sif), who are both returning to the "Thor" franchise. The news about Mark Ruffalo joining the next "Thor" movie was first reported by JoBlo.
This will be the first time that the Hulk's character will join another Avenger in a solo film besides "The Avengers." According to Screen Rant, Thor and the Hulk will battle Loki "and encounter the Valkyries." There is still no major details on the Hulk's role on the movie, but the website described the script as too dark, compared to the previous "Thor" movies, which were light and comedic movies.
The third installment of the film is now being prepared for pre-production, since the movie now has a director, Taika Waititi ("What We Do in the Shadows"). The movie will be produced by Hollywood producer Kevin Feige, and the script was written by Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost. Yost was also one of the co-writers of "Thor: The Dark World."
Fans are excited to see how Thor and the Hulk will interact with each other, now that there is only the two of them in the upcoming "Thor" movie, compared to their limited screen time in the last "Avengers" film.
