Tyrese Gibson Ends Beef with Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson
For the past several months, "Fast and Furious" fans saw how Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Tyrese Gibson took swipes at each other on social media and during interviews. After months of the feud, it looks like the two "Fast and Furious 9" stars have finally ended their dispute.
Over the weekend, Gibson posted a photo of himself on Instagram, together with Johnson and Vin Diesel. While the photo was already heartwarming in itself especially since The Rock had recently just ended his own feud with Diesel, Gibson accompanied it with a caption hinting that things are finally okay between him and his "Fast and Furious" co-star. In the caption, he said that would be the last time he would ever post about Johnson, whose name he misspelled as "Dewayne."
"Want you guys to know I had a real Heart to Heart with one of Dewayne's associates and this will be my last post about him. I repeat my last. I respect the associate who called. My story will never change I was never DJ's co-star. I'm Shayla's father first. Justin Lin is back in the driver seat that's exciting cause it's going to feel like the true #FastFamily all over again. When we see Justin we see Paul," he wrote in the caption.
The beef between the two actors started following news of Johnson's own "Fast and Furious" spinoff, which he will do with Jason Statham and will delay the production for "Fast and Furious 9" by a year. Since Johnson had his spinoff movie take precedence, Gibson has posted several lengthy tirades against him, accusing him of making the "Fast and Furious" franchise all about him. He even called Johnson a "clown," threatening that he would bail on "Fast and Furious 9" if they would keep Johnson as Luke Hobbs.
"Fast and Furious 9" will open in theaters in April 2020.
