UFC News 2016: Real McGregor Responds To Mayweather's Racism Comments; Holm Vs. Tate Fight Confirmed

The official Facebook page for UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has issued a response to retired undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather's recent comments about racism.

"Money May" had previously cried racism over praises thrown at McGregor's way, noting the public's "double standards" when it comes to viewing the manner of which both fighters are promoting themselves. Days after, a Facebook page claiming to be Conor McGregor responded to Mayweather, lambasting the latter for not taking the fight against Manny Pacquiao years ago, when "Pacman" was still in his prime.

"Who was the man you fought after Manny?? I don't think a lot of people out there know because it was one of the worst pay per view ratings of all time," an excerpt of the said post reads.

On Saturday, the official Conor McGregor page issued a response to Mayweather's statements. In a nutshell, the said post lambasted Floyd Jr.'s racism comments, noting how Irishmen have been "oppressed their entire existence."

To end his tirade against Mayweather, McGregor issued a challenge that involved an 80/20 purse split, supposedly in his favor.

"Do not ever put me in a bracket like this again. If you want we can organise a fight no problem," an excerpt of the post reads.

Meanwhile, UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm's fight against two-time title contender Miesha Tate has been made official.

In a report by Marc Raimondi for MMA Fighting, the said fight between both women will be taking place at UFC 197 on March 5 in Las Vegas, as the co-main event bout of the lightweight title showdown between champion Rafael Dos Anjos and challenger Conor McGregor.

This decision was in contrary of UFC president Dana White's previous statements that former champion Ronda Rousey would be getting the immediate title shot.

However, due to Rousey's inability because of a medical six-month medical suspension that was imposed upon her, Holm decided to keep herself active and take one more fight instead.

Holm and Rousey's rematch is expected to take place at UFC 200 in July.
