'Uncharted 4' Delayed Again To April 2016
The PlayStation 4 exclusive adventure game "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" has been delayed by more than one month. According to a report in Polygon, the game has been delayed to April 26, 2016 from its original schedule of March 18. In a post in the PlayStation Blog, the game's developer cited the need for additional time to have "a few more polish passes" of the game.
Developer Naughty Dog, through its staffers Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley, said in the blog post that the game is their "largest Uncharted game" so far. While the team was trying to finish the game in time for its scheduled launch, they discovered that they needed more time and more resources to finish the game. They said, "After carefully considering all of our options, we decided to extend our schedule, making sure that we get a few more polish passes before submitting our gold master (the final disc for manufacturing)."
According to the Polygon report, this is the second time that the game has been delayed. It's first release schedule was in late 2015, but Naughty Dog had pushed out the game to March 2015. Then recently, it was delayed again to April.
"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" is the fourth and is also said to be the final installment of the "Uncharted" series. It still features Nathan Drake, a former fortune hunter who is thrust into his old adventure-seeking ways because of his brother. The game's plot centers on his adventures with his brother, despite his being retired and happily married to Elena Fisher.
The game recently finished its beta testing phase for its multiplayer mode. When the game was showcased at the PlayStation experience 2015 in early December, it showed that the game was the first in the series to use player-controlled dialogue trees.
According to another report in Gamespot, the game will be available in two physical limited edition series: the Special Edition which sells for $80 and the Libertalia Collector's Edition which sells for $120.
