Upcoming Android Phones 2015: Gionee Soon to Announce Brand New Smartphone With Metal Alloy Frame in India
After developing some of the thinnest handsets in the market, Chinese phone manufacturer Gionee is back to its old ways of launching affordable devices.
However, the phone maker may be following the path of most brands today.
According to a report by GSM Arena, the Chinese company will launch its newest smartphone, the Gionee Elife S7 in India next month.
In previous years, Gionee has been solely releasing its handsets in its home market. But that has changed this year.
In the report, the Gionee Elife S7 will be available for pre-order from the company's official Indian website. The Chinese manufacturer is currently sending out invites to make itself known in the Asian subcontinent that is home to popular local brands like Karbonn and Micromax.
Announced during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Gionee Elife S7 is branded by the company as the thinnest smartphone that has dual-SIM compatibility, as well as five modes.
In the event, the Chinese brand boasted that its new Elife S7 does not only support two SIMs at once – it also supports 4G LTE connectivity on both SIM cards.
In the report, the 5.5mm thick smartphone packs a 5.2-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 2GB of RAM, a 64-bit enabled MediaTek MT6752 chipset, Mali-T760 GPU, and a 16GB internal memory.
Rounding up the Gionee Elife S7's specs are the 2750mAh battery, a microSD card slot, and Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
For those interested in getting the device, there are still no exact details about pricing and whether local carriers and retailers would offer them as well.
