'UQ Holder!' Anime Spoilers: Who Is Fate Averruncus?

Now that a new dark power has awakened in Touta Konoe, how will this change the way the young immortal fights on the next episodes of the Japanese action-fantasy anime series, "UQ Holder! Mahou Sensei Negima! 2"? Additionally, who is that white-haired guy who seems to have been watching him fight?

The previous episode saw Touta get back into the fight following the awakening of the dark power known as the Magia Erebea. It turns out that this said power was created by Yukihime herself, and she has managed to pass it along to Touta via blood transfusion.

Magia Erebea is a powerful technique, but it has also been forbidden since, in order to provide its user with tremendous power, it also has to feed on the user's body and soul. It is said that prior to Touta, there have only been two other known users of the said technique: Yukihime and Negi Springfield, the protagonist of the first "Negima" series who also happens to be Touta's grandfather.

Aside from introducing the Magia Erebea, the previous episode also treated audiences to the sight of Fate Averruncus, who was a former member of the UQ Holder. Being the comrade of Negi, Fate is also the second returning character from the original series after Yukihime.

However, since he has now become the greatest wizard, he has also set himself up as the UQ Holder's true enemy.

While watching Touta's fight against the Immortal Hunters via a spying device, he seemed to have recognized the boy as an image of his old comrade after said boy first displayed Magia Erebea.

How will Touta and Fate's paths finally cross, and what kind of impact will this bring to the young immortal's life?

On the other hand, the title for the next episode, "Kuromaru's Dark Days," teases more possible revelations about Touta's companion and close friend, Kuromaru Tokisaka.

"UQ Holder! Mahou Sensei Negima! 2" airs on Mondays at midnight JST on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, and BS11. Information on other broadcast schedules and online resources can be found on the series' official site. Episodes are also available for regions outside Japan via Amazon Prime's Anime Strike service.
