Virginia Couple Wins Lottery 3 Times in 2 Weeks: 'We're Not Finished Yet,' Says Calvin Spencer

A Virginia couple won the lottery three times in a little over two weeks recently to the tune of more than $2 million. Calvin and Zatera Spencer of Portsmouth, Va. are happy they've won so much money suddenly, but they say they aren't done playing the lottery yet.

The Virginia couple won the lottery for the first time March 12 while playing the Powerball drawings: they matched enough numbers to win $1 million. On March 26, Calvin decided to play the lottery game again, but this time it was the Virginia Lottery Pick 4 game. 10 winning tickets snagged him another cool $50,000.

But the biggest and luckiest win came just the next day. The Virginia man had dropped off his wife at an appointment, then decided to stop at a 7-Eleven in Norfolk. While there he bought a Virginia Lottery Scratcher ticket for the $100 Million Cash Extravaganza and won another $1 million prize.

"Baby, we did it again!" Calvin told Zatera, according to the state's lottery officials.

The $100 Million Cash Extravaganza has a 30-year annuity option and a lump sum payout. The Portsmouth couple chose the $681,000 payout before taxes.

Calvin had played 6-6-6-6 for his $50,000 win March 26. During that drawing, other winners won for a total of $6 million.

Despite their big wins, the Spencers have no plans to stop playing the lottery.

"We're not finished yet," Calvin told officials as they claimed their humongous check for their lottery cash prize. To see a picture of the happy couple with their newfound wealth, click here.
