Vivo X5 Pro Rumors: No Glowing Logo, But Iris Scanner Confirmed
The Vivo X5 Pro is another upcoming handset that has piqued the interest of the market, particularly the Chinese market where it will initially launch in the coming weeks.
In a recent report by Phone Arena, the Chinese manufacturer itself has confirmed that its device will come with a retina scanner.
However, the X5 Pro will not be the first smartphone to pack a retina scanner. Earlier this year, ZTE announced its Grand S3 handset that boasts the same optical security technology.
But in addition to the technology's use in terms of security, Vivo could also be using its phone's retina scanner in a more efficient way. In the report, the phone may be able to scan the retina in just a slight glance.
Vivo is not a new player in the market in terms of venturing new technologies and aiming to stand out.
Just earlier this year, the Chinese brand has unleashed the thinnest smartphone with its X5Max handset, which has a ridiculous waistline of just 4.75mm.
As for the Vivo X5 Pro, the handset was recently certified by the Chinese TENAA, and a leaked document reveals a front shooter that can take 32MP selfies.
Rounding up the rumored specs include a USB-C connection, which has been popularized by Apple's new MacBook 2015 ultraportable laptop, and a Snapdragon 615 chipset that supports 64-bit applications.
The Vivo X5 Pro is expected to be officially announced this month and become available in China.
