'Watch Dogs 2' Release Date & Update: Expected At E3 2016, Setting In California?

It's been almost two years since Ubisoft released the open world action-adventure third-person shooter video game "Watch Dogs," and though it had its ups and downs as a stealth video game, fans are wondering if the game will have a sequel.

Fortunately, the French multinational video game developer has confirmed that they are working on a brand new sequel for the game. Crossmap reported that "Watch Dogs 2" may be arriving during Ubisoft's next fiscal year. The current fiscal year started from April 2015 and will last up to around March 2016. This leads to speculations that the game may be out by either late 2016 or early 2017.

However, in a report by Rebel, "Watch Dogs 2" may be released at the upcoming E3 2016 convention which is scheduled on June 14 to 16 in Los Angeles. There is no confirmation to this report yet so it's best to take it with a grain of salt. But Ubisoft has confirmed that the game will be coming very soon. The source also revealed that the game may be exclusive to current generation gaming systems including the PS4 and Xbox One.

Ubisoft is also said to be aiming to make some improvements with the sequel especially in the graphics, gameplay and overall system upon its release. It can be remembered that the first game garnered several complaints from gamers because of some overlooked issues. With "Watch Dogs 2," players can expect some improvements.

"There are flaws, obviously," said Lionel Raynaud, Vice President Of Creatives at Ubisoft Montreal, on Cinemablend. "We absolutely want to tackle these flaws and surprise players, and the way to tackle some of those flaws is going to be quite radical. There are parts of the game that will need to change," he added.

Aside from the release date, the game is rumored to take place in San Francisco, California.

Some fans are worried because the main character of the first game, Aiden Pierce, may be replaced. But until official details are revealed, there's no need to fret on Pierce going away.
