World Cup 2016 News: US Soccer Team Wins Over Guatemala as Donovan and Conrad Slam Klinssman's Coaching
Following a couple of games that almost put the U.S. soccer team out of the World Cup, the group has finally overcome the fears of losing in a 4-0 win over Guatemala on Tuesday night.
According to Yahoo Sports, goals acquired by Clint Dempsey, Graham Zusi, Geoff Cameron, and Jozy Altidore helped put the United States back on track.
On Friday, the team lost 2-0 and many feared that another loss could possibly remove the U.S. from the final round of qualifiers. While some believed that another loss was imminent, the team rose from the ruins and claimed victory in a sweeping and almost unexpected way.

Over the weekend, some fans predicted that another loss would finally end the country's reign with eight consecutive World Cups. Aside from the team's possible removal from the finalists, coach Jurgen Klinsmann's career would possibly go down the drain as well.
The outlet notes that Klinsmann will most likely remain as the coach despite some complaints about his performance as he has allegedly been shuffling the lineup too much, which led to the players' instability in terms of a smooth gameplay.
In a recent interview, former World Cup player Landon Donovan shared his insights about the alleged underperformance of Klinnsman and the American dream team. According to Fox Sports, he told Soccer Morning on Siruis XM, "The sense I get, and I talk to a lot of the players, is that there's no confidence because there's no stability. If you can't beat Guatemala at home in a World Cup qualifier then you [Klinssman] probably shouldn't be the coach."
As for Jimmy Conrad, who has also played with the team for the World Cup in the past, the coach is responsible for a lot of things going on inside the game. He iterated in a video blog that Klinssman's inability to put players in the positions where they should be as well as his refusal to hold himself accountable for the losses are issues that the coach has to fix.
