WWE Latest News: AJ Styles Likely To Appear Post-Royal Rumble; Kevin Owens Promises To Be WWE Champ

Professional wrestling veteran AJ Styles had teased about a possible appearance in the upcoming Royal Rumble event on January 24. However, new reports say he will be appearing after the Royal Rumble instead.

In a report by Jack G. King for WhatCulture, Styles had spoken about his probable involvement in the said event through a promo he cut during the most recent Revolution Pro UK show.

"I tell you what…if I'm not recovering from some weird armbar submission and there's a spot in the Royal Rumble. I'll tell you what, I don't deserve a thing. I don't deserve you but I'll tell ya… you put me in that Royal Rumble and I'm gonna kick some ass for you guys," Styles said in his promo.

However, a recent Wrestlezone report says that Styles will not be making his debut at the Royal Rumble but will instead make his first appearance on Monday Night RAW after the event. WWE's creative team is now coming up with ways for introducing him to the WWE fans.

The 38-year-old sports entertainment star has been rumored to be headed for the WWE since late 2015. Early this month, Styles reportedly left his most recent promotion company New Japan Pro Wrestling to sign with the WWE.

Meanwhile, former NXT and WWE intercontinental champion Kevin Owens foresees a world title belt in his immediate future. Speaking to BJ Lisko of Canton Rep in an exclusive interview, Owens spoke about how he believes he is being lined up to take on bigger matches against more high-profile wrestlers.

He first noted about how he has been in the ring with heavyweight champion Roman Reigns, and how he has headlined some of the WWE's live events, despite only being in the roster for seven months. Owens adds that given his 15-year experience as a professional wrestler, he is at the perfect situation to bag the highly-coveted title.

The 31-year-old native of Quebec, Canada began his pro wrestling career in 2000, where he wrestled for Canadian promotion companies such as International Wrestling Syndicate. He spent the succeeding years of his life competing for other companies, before landing a spot in the WWE in 2014.

On September 20, Owens won the Intercontinental title against Ryback and was able to defend it once in their rematch, a month after.

However, he lost the title against Dean Ambrose last December in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs event.
