WWE Latest News: John Cena Speaks About Future WWE Plans, Triple H Possibly Injured At TLC Event
World Wrestling Entertainment superstar John Cena recently gave updates on his future as a professional wrestler. Meanwhile, Triple H is believed to be injured after the recently concluded TLC event.
Cena is currently on hiatus since October and has been fulfilling other obligations as a showbiz personality. He is currently involved in a project with FOX Entertainment, as a host of military-based reality show "American Grit." The series will air on a yet undetermined date in 2016.
Recently, the former WWE champion had a chance to speak with the Wall Street Journal regarding his immediate future. During the interview, Cena revealed that while he is aware that he would not be able to wrestle professionally for the rest of his life, it is something he would not be able to immediately let go of.
"I know that I'm in a time fighting business," Cena said in the article. "I've always sworn to myself that if I can't keep up with the current level athletically, it's my time to take another role, whether that's commentating on the matches or stepping behind the curtain and molding younger talent."
The 38-year-old Cena has been around the professional wrestling circuit since 1999 and has been one of the major players of WWE since 2005. Having been in the business for that long a time, he admits that what matters more now is the entertainment value he brings to the table, as many look up to him as a revered figure.
"When you get a kid to sit down and have a conversation with [their] Superman, it's the coolest thing. It makes their day," Cena said. "That's a pretty cool, unique thing."
Meanwhile, superstar and company Chief Operating Officer Triple H was reportedly injured during the WWE's TLC event on Sunday.
According to Scott Polacek of Bleacher Report, Triple H's potential injury happened during the TLC event, where Roman Reigns attacked him "with a punch and a chair." A separate statement released on WWE.com said that Triple H was being evaluated for any possible injury.
