WWE Latest News: Kurt Angle Wants Last Match At WrestleMania, Talks Retirement

Former World Wrestling Entertainment superstar and multiple time champion Kurt Angle says he is planning to hold his last professional wrestling match at WrestleMania.

The 47-year-old athlete has been around both the amateur and professional wrestling circuits since he was seven years old. A gold medalist both at the 1995 World Championships and 1996 Olympics, which were both held in Atlanta, Angle has been out of the WWE since 2006.

He is currently signed with Mexico's Asistencia Asesoria y Administraction since 2012. In a report by The Examiner, Angle is currently on hiatus since September. Angle had recently been doing interviews where he confirmed about a possible return to Vince McMahon's company.

In an interview with Ring Rust Radio, Angle says that while it is not yet on his mind, he says he is willing to make appearances once he is done with his indefinite layoff. He also clarified that his "retirement" was more about leaving Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).

"It was just the last matches I had under contract with TNA," Angle said in the interview. "It's more of a TNA retirement thing rather than anything else. I'm enjoying everything about retirement right now."

Angle spent eight years of his professional wrestling career with the WWE. Just two years after his signing, he went on to win both the European and Intercontinental titles, where he then branded himself as the "Eurocontinental champion".

In the same year, he went on to win the "King of the Ring," then eventually, the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) championship. Angle left the company citing that he was unable to handle the workload required, noting that there were moments when he needed to work while nursing an injury.

He did cut ties with the company in good terms, and is now bringing up the idea of having is last match at WrestleMania.

"I think anybody in pro wrestling wouldn't mind their last match being at WrestleMania," Angle told Ring Rust Radio.
