WWE Latest News: Daniel Bryan's Possible Return; John Cena Injury Update
Updates on the immediate future of World Wrestling Entertainment superstar Daniel Bryan have been released.
In a report by Bill Pritchard of Wrestlezone, the three-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion will not be making any surprise returns for either the Royal Rumble, which is scheduled for January 24, or WrestleMania 32, which is scheduled for April 3.
The 34-year-old professional wrestler has been out of action since May 2015 due to a "concussion-related" injury. Bryan himself revealed the status of his condition in July, stating that he is still waiting for doctors to give him the medical clearance to get back in the ring. The report adds that there have been rumors about Bryan being deliberately sidelined by the WWE's top management for various reasons. However, this has since been denied. As of this writing, WWE head honcho Vince McMahon is waiting for the company's head doctor, Dr. Joseph Maroon, to give Bryan the green light to compete once again.
In another report by 411mania, the WWE also denied rumors that Bryan has been released. The rumors began when an "anonymous email" from someone claiming to be an employee of the company and was working for the Human Resources department was posted online. The email said that one of the employee's co-workers supposedly processed Bryan's release.
The WWE, in response, simply stated "there is no truth to this letter from a supposed WWE emloyee."
Meanwhile, former WWE champion John Cena also gave updates on the condition of his injury. The 38-year-old professional wrestling veteran tore his rotator cuff, which required immediate surgery. While the said medical procedure was deemed to be a success, Cena did state that it may take a while before he can get back into action.
In a tweet he posted on Wednesday, Cena explained the situation in full detail.
"Day 6 post operation. Movement is very good but because a giant chunk of cartilage was missing, this one may take a bit. #nevergiveup," Cena wrote.
