World Wrestling Entertainment legend Bret Hart was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer.

In an Instagram post he made on Monday, the 58-year-old Hart revealed that he would be undergoing surgery for the said ailment.

"I make a solemn vow to all of those that once believed in me, the dead and the living, that I will wage my fearsome fight against cancer with one shield and one sword carrying my determination and my fury for life, emboldened by all the love that's kept me going this long already," an excerpt of Hart's post reads.

In 2002, "The Hitman" suffered a stroke, after being involved in a bike accident. He has since recovered from it and has made appearances in various WWE events, which began in 2005.

His most recent one was during the May 4, 2015 episode of Monday Night RAW, where he introduced Sami Zayn as the surprise challenger for then United States Champion John Cena. In 2006, former rival Stone Cold Steve Austin inducted Hart into the WWE Hall-of-Fame.

Meanwhile, WWE diva Charlotte (Ashley Fliehr in real life) recently spoke about how the company used her brother's death as part of a previous story line.

During the November 16th 2015 episode of Monday Night RAW, fellow diva and number one title contender Paige brought up Charlotte's brother Reid, who died in 2003 due to a drug overdose.

The said storyline did not sit well with Charlotte's mother, Elizabeth Fliehr, who in a tweet, branded the company's writers as "lazy," and describing the said segment as "disrespectful," "cruel" and "disgusting."

In a recent report by Sean Rueter for Cageside Seats, Charlotte spoke about the said incident. The current Divas champion believes that the WWE "needed heat" and needed to give her "some kind of sympathy."

The WWE did issue a response to the said statement, noting that the segment was only approved with the permission of their talents.
