Since his "People's Champion" days in the early 2000's during the WWE's "Attitude" Era, Johnson has made sporadic appearances in various events. He did hold another stint as WWE champion in 2013 when he defeated then title-holder CM Punk during the year's Royal Rumble event.

The Rock's most recent WrestleMania appearance was in 2014, when he appeared alongside former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. Both Johnson and Rousey were involved in a storyline with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, and ended up prevailing against the couple.

He appeared in his most recent house show in Boston last June, where he handled Bo Dallas using his signature move, the Rock Bottom.

Meanwhile, superstar Daniel Bryan is reportedly being offered a job in another promotion company.

The 34-year old superstar is currently on the sidelines due to an injury, and remains uncertain about his return date.

However, in a report by Cageside Seats, former WWE superstar "Double J" Jeff Jarrett is considering acquiring the services of Bryan, once the latter comes out of his hiatus. The 48-year old former professional wrestler turned promoter described Bryan as a "fantastic talent" and a "phenomenal in ring performer."

Jarrett is the co-founder of the Tennessee-based company Global Force Wrestling (GFW).
