Xbox One Controller PC: Developer Hacks Gamepad to Work for Home Computer

Microsoft announced the Xbox One controller will be compatible with a Windows PC sometime in 2014, and one user posted a Vine of their attempt to figure it out on their own.

Developer Chris Gallizzi took his early Xbox One controller and hacked it to his Windows 7 computer as a HID (Human Interface Device) controller reports Polygon.

The developer told the gaming site that as of right now the analog sticks work in two games, Hotline Miami and Amnesia, but the button do not. He is still working on synching them up. "[My job is to] break things and make them work for other applications that they were never designed for," Gallizzi said to Polygon.

He was previously able to take the PS4's DualShock 4 controller and make it work for a Mac OS X.

"Just figured this driver... Now button mapping! #xboxone," the description reads.

Recently a video was posted of a gamer playing Xbox 360 with a PS4 controller.

See the video here.

"DualShock 4 shown working on an Xbox 360 through a combination of JoyToKey, a Cronus Device, and Cronus Bullseye software," the description reads.

The Dualshock 4 will already reportedly work for PS3, Macs, and PCs, would it be far reaching if the control could be set up for the Xbox One?

"Updating the description just to add that everything on the controller is mapped, however at this moment the analog sticks, more importantly, the right stick function only in eight directions so it makes it fairly impractical for games that require high precision with the right stick though I am still working on trying to see if this problem can be fixed or mitigated," said YouTube user RageBeefSA on his video.

PlayStation 4 accessories have been arriving for gamers who have also pre-ordered the console, which is set to be released on Nov. 15. Xbox One is coming on November 22.
