'Yowamushi Pedal' News: Season 3 Announced
The anime series "Yowamushi Pedal" is getting a third season, according to several reports. The announcement about the new season was made during the opening of the "Yowamushi Pedal" anime movie in Tokyo's Toho Cinemas. This coming TV adaptation will be the third adaptation of the sports manga series that was originally created by Wataru Watanabe, according to a report in Crunchyroll.
The series follows the story of a high school teen named Onoda Sakamichi, who meets two known cyclists, Imaizumi Shunsuke and Naruko Shoukichi. Onoda ends up joining a competitive cycling club instead of the school's research club. Onoda and his school's cycling club compete with other schools in bike races or competitions so most of the stories in the series revolve around these bike clubs and their members. In the series, there are four schools whose bike clubs are in fierce competition with each other. These are Onoda's school which is Sohoku High School, Hakone Academy, Kyoto Fushimi and Hiroshima Kureminami Technical High School.
Along with the announcement, a short teaser video was also revealed, which however did not show much about what the coming season will be about. According to the report, additional details such as who will be involved in the adaptation and when it will be broadcast will be provided at a later date.

Another report in Fandom Post claims that the upcoming season will mainly be a continuation of the two previous seasons. The first and second seasons were all about the Inter High bicycle race and how each of the high school teams and their members prepared for the race.
The original manga has been adapted into two anime series broadcasted in October 2013 and in October 2014, under license with Diskotech Media. Two anime compilation films on the other hand were released in September 2014 and another in June 2015. An anime feature film titled "Yowamushi Pedal: The Movie" was recently released on August 28, 2015.
