7 important dates in the Reformation life of Martin Luther

Although Oct. 31 is often celebrated as the spooky holiday of Halloween, for many the date is celebrated as the anniversary of the beginning of the Protestant Reformation.

No figure was more integral to the Reformation than its founder, German monk Martin Luther, whose nailing of the 95 theses on a church door sparked the theological revolution.

The nailing of the theses was only the beginning of a series of events that made the Reformation spread throughout Europe and impact world history for centuries to come.
