Leadership in focus
I once met with a leader who indicated that the organization he worked at was full of followers, and he said it as if it were a bad thing. What, I wonder, would he have to say about Jesus who submitted His whole life to the will of the Father? What would you say about someone who spent their whole life in submission, even unto death?
Top excuses we make to not be gentle
Brothers and sisters, if we use our “rightness” as an excuse to lack gentleness, then we stand in opposition to how the Lord wants His servants to act. Moreover, that isn’t even the way the Lord desires to draw people into repentance or into truth!
The myth of a balanced life: Retreating from or retreating to
I’ve heard so many people advise that we find balance in how much news we consume. I’m not saying that’s wrong, but I believe it’s off focus. The Bible does not explicitly teach “balance” as a way of life. Instead of balance, the Bible exhorts us to acts of love and commitment that, to the outside world, would look radical.
When Jesus isn't enough, nothing is
Believer, check your heart with the Lord. If you are asking for a mentor (or anything else, really), ask yourself, why? Ask yourself, are you at a place where if the Lord said, “No” you will still believe you’ve gained in this life simply because you have Him?
