Harry Reid's Crony Capitalism Behind Showdown With Nevada Rancher?
The major news media, with the exception of Fox News, has been deafeningly quiet about the federal government's thwarted raid last week on a Nevada rancher. Heavily armed agents from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) descended upon Cliven Bundy's ranch, seizing 389 of his 900 cattle
Dangerous Erosion of Freedom as Obama Cedes Control of the Internet
Since the Internet now permeates our lives in every possible way, it is disturbing that Obama has relinquished U.S. control over its underlying structure. On Saturday, the upper house of the Russian parliament (Duma), the Federation Council, unanimously approved Putin's request to use force in Ukraine and deploy additional troops to the Crimean peninsula.
Environmentalists Target Fracking
The environmentalist movement's latest target is fracking. Fracking, or hydraulic fracturing, is the process of extracting shale gas from deposits underground. Natural gas releases less CO2 than oil into the environment. For these reasons, environmentalists concerned with global warming should be pleased to be moving away from oil and toward natural gas, but instead they are trying to stop it, state by state as well as on the federal level.
The Occupy Movement and its Extreme Left Component Implode
The Occupy Wall Street movement has not only disintegrated, but is now imploding. Left-wing news sites are gloating about the demise of their own. BuzzFeed ran a story last week on the hijacking of the primary Occupy Wall Street Twitter account by a transsexual who is now claiming to be the founding organizer of the movement.
Obama Blocks White House Council on Boys and Men
A White House Council on Women and Girls was formed in 2009 under the Obama administration to ensure that government agencies were taking into account the needs of women and girls. Warren Farrell, who has served on the board of NOW in New York City and writes books about men's and women's issues, was asked to be an adviser to the Council. He agreed, but suggested the need for a White House Council on Boys and Men. He was invited to submit a proposal to create one.
Obama Criminalizes Dissent, Goes After Dinesh D'Souza
It doesn't appear to be a coincidence that the Obama administration is now targeting D'Souza for minor campaign finance violations. Last week he was criminally indicted. But what does this really mean? There is an old saying that a good prosecutor can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich, and as a former prosecutor, I agree.
