2021 Dove Award winners: CeCe Winans, worship artists snag top honors
For KING & COUNTRY took home three awards, including Artist of the Year; Christmas/Special Event Album of the Year for “A Drummer Boy Christmas,” and Long Form Video OTY for "Burn The Ships Concert Film." The duo was nominated in five categories.
In a red carpet interview with The Christian Post, brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone applauded CCM for its willingness to collaborate with other artists and explore difficult and timely issues like doubt, hurt and pain.
“Artists, more than ever, are coming closer and rubbing shoulders more than ever, and they need to,” For KING & COUNTRY’s Luke Smallbone told The Christian Post. “Christianity is a journey. They call it a ‘faith journey’ for a reason, so I think it's important to create space for people, to show compassion to people, to show empathy. I don’t have it altogether; my theology is not perfect, but I hope that Jesus knows I’m in pursuit.”
