Planetshakers – It’s Christmas Live
Worship band Planetshakers released their album, It’s Christmas Live, a recording that celebrates the coming of Jesus.
The live album was recorded at the Planetshakers Church just before the COVID-19 lockdowns. The Joth Hunt-produced album and accompanying video combine Planetshakers’ remakes of classic favorites alongside original Christmas songs.
Worship leaders Rudy Nikkerud, Chelsi Nikkerud, Natalie Ruiz, Joe Vatucicila, Rachel Vatucicila, Kemara Fuimaono and Steve Sowden are all featured vocalists on It’s Christmas Live. Joining the worshipers is a 59-voice choir and various musicians.
“Christmas is a great time to remember what Jesus has done,” said Russell Evans, Planetshakers' founder and lead pastor in a statement shared with CP. “Despite what we may see around us or how we may feel, Christmas is a time where we can refocus our attention firmly on Jesus; God becoming man to save humanity!”
“The Christmas season is a wonderful time to celebrate the goodness of God,” Hunt added. “These songs are full of life and joy; great reminders of some of the blessings God has given to believers.”
The live recording is a remake of their first-ever full-length studio Christmas album released last year.
Some of the songs on the album include “The Prayer (Italian lyric version),” “Angels We Have Heard On High,” and the title track and original song “It's Christmas.”
