'16 & Pregnant' Star Rushed to ER in 'Coma' Like State
Danielle Cunningham, a former star on MTV's series "16 & Pregnant," is recovering after being rushed to the hospital. Cunningham described the terrifying ordeal on her Facebook page but assured fans she is doing better now.
"I passed out and quit responding and was in coma condition, and even stopped breathing and turned blue," Cunningham posted on her page. "My best friends & boyfriend rushed me to the hospital. I was completely blue and not breathing. The doctors put tubes down my throat and oxygen into lungs."
Cunningham first made her appearance on MTV's hit series in 2010, when she was pregnant with her son, Jamie Paul Jr. She and boyfriend Jamie Alderman welcomed their son in October 2010 and just celebrated his second birthday. Thankfully she had friends and family around when she collapsed and was able to get to the hospital in time.
"[Doctors] said that if I would of [sic] waited even 15 more minutes I would be brain dead right now or dead. I had a lot of people there for me. Love you all," Cunningham posted.
She has not given a reason for her sudden condition, which occurred on Sunday night. But the next day she was back on Facebook, raising some suspicions among followers. Some have blamed a popular shake drink ViSalus, which is used as a weight-loss supplement, for her loss of unconsciousness. Those claims, however, are unsubstantiated.
Other shake drinkers who testify that the shake's ingredients are perfectly safe have refuted the claim that they're dangerous. Cunningham has been trying to lose weight, which could have harmed her body and sent her into shock.
Meanwhile, Cunningham has kept up-to-date on all the "Teen Mom" happenings, even working with others on her own site for the show and its spin-offs. As a former "16 & Pregnant" star, Cunningham has the inside scoop when it comes to MTV.
