Jana Duggar is one of the lesser-known Duggar daughters, which has prompted speculation that she does not enjoy the limelight and is breaking away from Duggar family tradition.

The 24-year old has a twin brother, John-David, and neither one is dating, which is unusual for members of the family. Younger sisters Jill, 23, and Jessa, 21, are either engaged or married and expecting a first child. But it seems that Jana is much more interested in being single and not tied down just yet; some have theorized that Jana is rebelling against the family traditions.

"There's a lot of talk about her spreading her wings and flying solo, leaving her parents and the 18 kids behind. [However], the most likely explanation of Jana's single status is that she and Jim Bob just haven't found 'the one' yet," Hollywood Gossip wrote.

In the meantime, Jana is working to build a career as a midwife and also has incredible skills as a seamstress—she sewed the bridesmaid and flower girl dresses for Jill's wedding.

"I've been spending a lot of time working under a local midwife, as part of the same birth team that Jill is on. I really enjoy learning about natural birth, and working as a midwife assistant and doula. Even though this may not be something that I do for the rest of my life, I feel so blessed to be able to learn and grow in this area, and I plan on using the skills that I've developed through these experiences to help my family and friends now and in the future," Jana posted in a blog last year.

"Jill and I feel like the training we are receiving, although our paths are both a little bit different, will serve us in the future on the mission field. Each of us would like to use our skills as a way to share the hope of Jesus in foreign countries, but for right now, the country we've been called to serve in is our own. We enjoy loving on our moms, babies and families, and feel privileged to care for them," she added.

The Duggar family is big on mission work, and Jana has already participated in several trips. She also helps her mother with raising the rest of the children still living at home. Jana and sisters Jill, Jinger, and Jessa all co-wrote a best-selling book about their lives, Growing Up Duggar: It's All About Relationships.
