Jinger Duggar celebrated a milestone birthday on Sunday, turning 21, and celebrating in Duggar fashion rather than going to any bars.

"Today, December 21st is Jinger's 21st birthday," the Duggar family posted to Facebook. "We are so thankful for her love for Jesus and her sweet personality. She is precious to us in every way! Cute little Jinger! Can't believe she's all grown up … Today we're celebrating her 21st birthday! Such a beautiful young lady – inside and out!"

The rest of Jinger's family took time out of their schedules to wish their sibling a happy, memorable birthday.

"Happy golden birthday to my sweet sister Jinger! I love you so much!" Jessa posted along with a photo of her sister.

Instead of celebrating in a bar like most people, Jinger spent plenty of time surrounded by family and just reveling in being alive. Photos showed her holding a homemade banner alongside her mother, Michelle. The Duggar daughter's older sister Jill told Cosmopolitan magazine that the family did not believe in drinking.

"We've never like intentionally been to a party where we know there's going to be a lot of drinking," Jill explained. "I've been on the fire department for a few years, and there's people, young people, 18-year-old girls who have died of an OD. You see the effects, and it really makes you stop and think of the consequences for some of these actions."

Jinger, Jessa, Jill, and Jana all worked together on a popular book about their upbringing in a conservative, religious household. Growing Up Duggar provided insight into the four girls' views on courting, marriage, and generally growing up and being the person God wanted them to be.

The family recently returned from a mission trip to El Salvador, which they take annually. And now that Jinger's birthday has been celebrated, it is time to move on to another, bigger celebration … Christmas.
