2 Chainz Arrest for 'Hood' Ring? (PHOTO)
2 Chainz was arrested Tuesday at a New York airport after police charged that the rapper had attempted to smuggle a weapon in his carry-on baggage.
2 Chainz, born Tauheed Epps, was arrested Tuesday at La Guardia airport after police believed the rapper had attempted to bring "brass knuckles" on the plane.
"2 Chainz was taken into custody for misdemeanor possession of a criminal weapon at 1:45 local time" after "brass knuckles" were discovered in his carry-on bag, police officials told TMZ.
It was later revealed however, that Epps was actually carrying a metal ring.
"2 chainz ain't have no brass knuckles, it was a 4 finger ring that spelled hood. We had a shoot yesturday n he was rockin em," fellow music artist Big Sean tweeted, clearing the rapper's name.
Epps later tweeted himself that he had been released and was on his way to North Carolina for a concert date.
"RALEIGH, NC we on da wayyyyy!!! TurnUPPP" the rapper tweeted Tuesday afternoon. "Sorry to alll the negative people who wanted me out the way...kant let u have the game bak that ez."
Epps also reported that in addition to the metal ring, his bag was also taken by security.
"And oh yeh they took my Louis V. traveling case... Smh! Petty I got that from Saudi Arabia...Materials kan b replaced!2blessed2stress," Epps added.
The rapper, who recently appeared on Kanye West's new track "Mercy," was rumored to have signed with West's G.O.O.D. label.
Epps, who most notable came out with "Spend It" last year, is set to release a new album in August.
