2 Chainz Denies Being Robbed on Twitter
Police have said that rapper 2 Chainz was robbed at gunpoint on the evening of June 9 in Oakland, Calif. just before the rapper was supposed to perform a concert. However, the rapper has taken to Twitter to deny that he was robbed.
"Rule #1 if a rapper gets robbed people usually post items that has been taken. Rings, chains, watch, money etc," he tweeted earlier today, disputing the intial reports. "Rule #2 if a rapper gets shot he usually go to hospital or dies. Rule #3 we definitely got geeked up in San Fran, best smoke in the world. 2 blessed 2 stress."
Though he seems to deny the robbery, there is plenty of evidence, including police statements that seem to confirm that 2 Chainz was indeed the victim of a mugging.
2 Chainz was walking with his entourage when he was confronted by men with a gun, Sgt. Dennis Toomer of the San Francisco Police Department told The New York Daily News. A spokesman for the San Francisco Police Department offered even more specifics.
2 Chainz "and his crew were walking in the 800 block around 4:36 p.m. They were approached by two Hispanic males; one produced a handgun and a shot was fired. [2 Chainz] is saying he was robbed of a wallet, credit cards, U.S. currency and a cell phone. The suspect is still at large, and the investigation is ongoing," a spokesman said.
"The suspect is 20 to 30 years old, 5 feet 6 inches and about 130 pounds. He was wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans," the representative told HollywoodLife.com.
With seemingly clear evidence and police statements about 2 Chainz being the victim of a robbery, it is unclear why the rapper would take to Twitter to deny the events of Sunday evening.
