2004 Pentecostal World Conference Slated for South Africa
Come Holy Spirit, Transform Our World
Hundreds of Pentecostals around the world are expected to attend the 20th annual Pentecostal World Conference, slated for The Dome in Randburg, South Africa, Sep. 14-17, 2004. Entitled, Come Holy Spirit, Transform Our World, the conference will mark the 10th year anniversary of the end of apartheid in the nation.
"The conference will serve as a further catalyst in the nation," said Christian P. Lodewyk, the conference director. "We're a young nation now, only nine years old since our democracy, and because the church was very much a part of the old order, we work hard to have the church be a part of the transformation of the nation itself."
Thomas E. Trask, Assemblies of God General Superintendent and chairman of the Pentecostal World Fellowship, encouraged all A/G members to attend the celebration. "This is a wonderful opportunity for the Assemblies of God to assist in the continuing unification and transformation of a church body that is making miraculous progress in overcoming centuries of division," said Trask. "I also believe the depth and breadth of the conference tracks and speakers are remarkable -- second to none!"
Speakers will include Thomas Trask, David Yonggi Cho, Jack Hayford, Reinhard Bonnke, Kenneth Ulmer, Brian Houston, Hlengiwe Mkhize, Frank Chikane, Francisco Jimenez, Elijah Mahlangu and many others.
