2012 MTV Awards and Best Kiss: 'Twilight' Stars Win for Fourth Time

The 2012 MTV Movie Awards has honored Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson with the award for Best Kiss in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part 1."

Sunday's award marked Stewart's fourth consecutive Best Kiss win. The actress and her real-life boyfriend Pattinson beat out top contenders for the award including the stars of "Harry Potter," Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.

Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling were also nominated for Best Kiss for their kiss in "Crazy, Stupid, Love."

Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum also lost to the "Twilight" stars despite their kiss in this year's hit romance "The Vow."

Lastly, the onscreen kiss between "The Hunger Games" stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson did not have what it takes to beat Stewart and Pattinson.

Stewart, 22, had to take the stage alone to accept the Best Kiss award because Pattinson was unable to attend. The 26-year-old actor is busy promoting his new movie "Cosmopolis."

"Rob's not here you guys," Stewart said during her acceptance speech. "I don't really know what to do," she added before begging her "Snow White" co-star Chris Hemsworth to join her on stage.

"Huntsman? Where's my hunstman," asked Stewart referring to Hemsworth before naming another "Snow White" star, Charlize Theron.

"How about Charlize? Come on, come help a sister out," said the actress.

Stewart then turned her back to the audience and hugged herself, pretending to kiss someone else. Finally, the actress resorted to handling the speech on her own.

"Okay, this really means a lot," she said in a more serious tone. "Thank you guys very much for giving us Best Kiss again. Thank you."

Ahead of her fourth Best Kiss win, Stewart explained that she would like to have seen a new winner of the award.

"For the past few years, it was the 'Twilight' show, and it was bizarre," said the actress of the multi-million-dollar film franchise in which she portrays Bella Swan.

"This year's going to be fun, it's going to be like, 'Please, God, something different,'" added the star speaking to MTV U.K. "I would love to see how someone else dealt with it, to be honest. If we didn't win, I'd actually be kind of stoked to see how it all does down, how they handle it."

Meanwhile, Stewart has remained busy ahead of last week's premiere of her new film, "Snow White and the Huntsman." She also appears in the Cannes Film Festival hit, "On The Road."
