2016 Ford Bronco rumors: Release date to be announced during the 2016 Detroit Car Show

Rumors about Ford resurrecting the decommissioned Bronco have surfaced last year, and now the American automaker will reportedly announce the release date of the 2016 Ford Bronco soon.

The Ford Bronco has been out of sight for two decades, but it seems that fans will see an updated version of the decommissioned vehicle soon. The official release date of the 2016 Ford Bronco will be revealed during the 2016 Detroit Car Show, according to Christian Today.

One of the rumored specs of the 2016 Ford Bronco is a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine with 420 horsepower, which can be changed to a 4.0-liter Powerstroke diesel V6 engine with 330 horsepower and 645 lb.-ft. of torque. It will also have another version that will come with a powerful 5.8-liter supercharged V8 engine with 662 horsepower and 631 lb.-ft. of torque, Cars Concept 2016 reports.

As for the transmission of the SUV, the details are still unconfirmed, but there are already reports that fans can choose between the 6R140 6-speed automatic transmission and the ZF 6-speed manual transmission.

Aside from that, leaked concept photos of the 2016 Ford Bronco show that the SUV will borrow the rugged look of the previous versions from 1966 to 1996. However, it will have modern additions such as the touchscreen display and the power-adjustable seats. Some of the most desirable interior features include the wide luggage space behind the backseats and ample leg space for all the passengers, the report details.

The 2016 Ford Bronco will reportedly be a fitting competitor for the Nissan Xterra. Depending on the kind of accessories and trim included, the new Ford vehicle will cost between $24,000 and $31,000. This price range, however, has not yet been confirmed by Ford, and so is the release date.

The upcoming 2016 Ford Bronco is expected to be available at dealers by the second half of next year.
