2016 Volvo XC90 Review: Garnered 'Car of the Year' Award and Positive Feedbacks

The latest model of Volvo, the 2016 XC90, has been released and it's nothing short of impressive. According to Master Herald, the model has been catching the attention of many and has been getting great reviews. In fact, it won the "Car of the Year" award from Auto Express.

The XC90 received the esteemed title a month after it was released in the UK and the recognition of how excellent and desirable the car is doesn't even stop there as it topped the "Large SUV of the Year" category. Aside from that, the sales of the new model is going very well as Manchester Evening News reported that "it has already almost sold out the entire first year's planned global production run of 50,000 cars." Only 4,000 of these cars went to the UK.

It's also very apparent that everyone who talks about the model does so in a positive manner. Many are giving out their praises for the 2016 Volvo XC90. Steve Fowler, the editor-in-chief of Auto Express described the SUV as a sensational vehicle. "It not only sets new standards for Volvo, but for the car market in general, leading in terms of technology, efficiency, style and safety," he said.

So what is it really in this vehicle that enticed the motoring public? For starters, the design of the model is exceptional and unique. It's described to be a "blend of rich Scandinavian design elements," not just on the outside but as well as in the inside. Volvo designers also went for the T-square look once again. The headlights, which are called "Thor's Hammer," are LED running lamps and are literally T-shaped from the head-on view. The grille is noticeably in a perfect rectangle while the hood and other elements of the look are towering, extensive and unbending.

Inside is the iPad style "Sensus" which is the vertical central control touch screen strategically positioned in the center of the organized dashboard. It's similar to a conventional tablet computer with swipe action and touch control. And with it, all the essential non-driving functions of the vehicle are controlled.

As expected, the seven-seater vehicle is equipped with top quality materials including high-grade leather and different striking metal parts. Looking inside will feel like one is in a luxurious setting. Its performance on the road is also outstanding. No doubt, Volvo has brought a high-end vehicle without compromising comfort for those long trips.
