2017 Honda Civic Si: 10th-Gen Sports Impact Runs With Turbocharged Engine

Honda has recently revealed the 10th generation model of its Civic Si line, and the upcoming automobile is promised to get a power boost through a turbocharged engine.

Automobile fans would agree that the 2017 Honda Civic Si has lived up to the prototype that the company has earlier shown. The car model was announced through a YouTube live streaming event last week where it was confirmed that it is going to be the first-ever turbocharged offering under the Civic Si lineup.

In an official statement, American Honda senior vice president Jeff Conrad said, "The 2017 Honda Civic Si is our first turbocharged Si and sets a new sporty compact benchmark in terms of agility and precise handling while building toward the launch of the Type R as the final chapter in our epic 10th-generation Civic story."

Honda has also revealed that the 2017 Civic Si will be offered in two body styles, which are the sedan (four-door) and coupe (two-door). The car model promises to have 205 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque made possible by its 1.5-liter turbocharged engine.

As for its design, the 2017 Civic Si's sporty look extends to the bumper, and it was made that way so the car will be able to take in air in large volumes. Meanwhile, from the interior, Honda promised that the 2017 Civic Si will feature a 450-watt audio system paired with a touchscreen audio display and several USB ports.

While the turbocharged engine has been the highlight of the 2017 Honda Civic Si, Motor Trend also commented that the car dons a sporty body built without stepping into the territory of Honda's 2017 Civic Type R, which was earlier announced to be coming to the U.S.

Compared to the 2017 Civic Si, the 2017 Civic Type R will run with a 2-liter turbocharged engine that will be able to deliver 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft torque.

Honda is yet to announce when the 2017 Civic Si comes out in the market. Meanwhile, reports have it that it is going to be priced within the mid-$20,000 range.
