2017 Los Angeles Comic Con News: The Black Eyed Peas Headlines This Year's Cosplay Ball
The Black Eyed Peas had been confirmed to attend the Cosplay Ball at the annual Los Angeles Comic-Con later this month.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the pop-hip-hop music group will perform in front of the three-day badge holders of the annual pop culture convention during an outdoor concert on Saturday, Oct. 29.
Comikaze Entertainment Inc. CEO Keith Tralins explained the reason why the group was chosen to perform.
"They are a perfect fit for the show in that they are nerds, they are talent doing some amazing storytelling in the comic book world, and they are from L.A.," Tralins stated. "This is a great chance for us to promote local, homegrown artists who are changing the world and for them to give a little something to the hometown crowd."
Aside from performing in the outdoor concert, the members of The Black Eyed Peas including will.i.am, Taboo, and apl.de.ap will also promote their new graphic novel titled "Black Eyed Peas Present: Masters of the Sun — The Zombie Chronicles" that was first released in July. The alien-zombie invasion series was created by will.i.am in partnership with Damion Scott and Benjamin Jackendoff.
The three-day event will also bring actor Dwayne Johnson in Los Angeles to talk about his upcoming film "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle," as well as the cast members of "Battlestar Galactica" like Katee Sackhoff, Melissa Joan Hart, and Paul Reubens. The event will also feature Chloe Bennet from "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" of ABC as well as Kimmy Robertson and Harry Goaz from the "Twin Peaks" reboot.
Stan Lee's Los Angeles Comic Con will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center starting Thursday, Oct. 27, and conclude on Sunday. It will also reportedly host the Cosplay National Championship where contestants can win up to $20,000 in cash prizes.
More details about the 2017 Stan Lee's Los Angeles Comic Con are expected to be released in the coming days.
