3 Tickets Win $50M Powerball Jackpot: Florida Sells Winning Ticket Again
3 tickets will split the $50M Powerball jackpot this week, according to reports.
All three winners this week come from different states, and each will now take a third of the total jackpot.
According to The Associated Press the three winning tickets were sold in Florida, Louisiana, and Delaware – which means this is the second time in a week that a person from the Sunshine State has managed to pick the winning numbers.
The winning numbers in the drawing were 2, 6, 19, 21, and 27, and the Powerball number was 25.
Following the new winners being announced the Powerball jackpot will again reboot to $40 million, and if there again are no winners at each drawing that jackpot will begin to grow significantly very quickly.
Just last week the Powerball winning ticket was also sold in Florida, and that time that lucky person was the sole winner of the biggest Powerball jackpot in history at an estimated $590.5 million on May 18, 2013, lottery officials confirmed.
According to officials the winning ticket was sold in a supermarket in Zephyrhills, Fla.
Florida Lottery executive Cindy O'Connell has said: "This would be the sixth Florida Powerball winner and right now, it's the sole winner of the largest ever Powerball jackpot."
"We're delighted right now that we have the sole winner."
O'Connell added that Florida has had the most Powerball winners out of all states.
Last week's record draw attracted huge numbers of players across the nation, with many people buying multiple tickets to increase their chances of winning.
Officials confirmed that about four of every five possible combinations of Powerball numbers were in play, making it more likely than not that someone somewhere would win.
The winning numbers for that record Powerball lottery were 10, 13, 14, 22 and 52, and the Powerball came out as number 11.
The chances of winning the Powerball lottery stand at 1 in 175.2 million.
