In a May 16 appearance on sportscaster Jason Whitlock’s “Fearless” podcast, former NFL football player Brett Favre expressed bewilderment and disgust that “a young man who identifies as a girl … can go into a girls’ bathroom and use restrooms with girls.”

“For us to think that’s okay, I think is wrong,” he added. “I just think some things that we’re allowing in this country are beyond belief.”

Additionally, Favre declared that “some of the thoughts and beliefs that we’re seeing are crazy and somebody’s got to speak up.” When Whitlock shared his disappointment that more male athletes had not come forward to say that biological males “have no business competing against women in sports,” the former football star suggested that “the vast majority are afraid of what it will do to their career.”

Favre also contended that “it’s not affecting them directly,” to which Whitlock replied “they’ve got daughters.” The former Green Bay Packers player acknowledged that “it may affect them somewhere down the road,” wondering if it will be “too late” by the time they realize that. He concluded his interview with Whitlock by describing the current political climate in the U.S. as “scary.”
