4 Christian reactions to Disney's 'Snow White' remake
2. Michael Knowles

Michael Knowles, a conservative Catholic and podcast host at The Daily Wire, said in an episode last week that Disney’s "Snow White" is “reflective of the age.”
Knowles said at the start of his review that Disney’s live-action remake is “not the worst movie” he’s ever seen; however, he believes that every change from the Grimm fairy tale and the original 1937 movie was “a change for the worse.”
“The parts of the movie that worked are the parts that they just kept the same,” Knowles said, pointing to the “Whistle While You Work” song, which was also in the original movie, as a highlight of the 2025 film.
The conservative pundit believed that Disney’s latest attempt to recreate a classic was proof that the corporation is “living on the fumes of its past glories,” which he believes reflects the culture.
“We’re kind of living on the fumes of prior glories, even intellectually, even spiritually,” Knowles said. “We’re living on the fumes of Christendom, and if we don’t reestablish something sturdy to found the civilization on to lean against, then it’s going to collapse.”
