4 reactions to Joshua Butler's resignation as pastor of Arizona church
Author Drew Dwyck voiced concern about the impact that Butler’s resignation would have on public discourse in general.
Dwyck tweeted: "Not right what’s happened to Josh Butler. Yes, the language in his excerpt was cringe. (He was pushing that metaphor way too far). But the guy didn’t deserve to lose his spot w/ the Keller center and now his pastorate. This kind of thing has a chilling effect on pubic discourse."

Dwyck, who added that he personally knows Butler, called him an "intelligent and gentle dude.
He tweeted: "I think a lot of people misread him. He's not some patriarchal theobro. He's a Portlandy, Imago Dei, NT Wrightish style Christian who got too earthy with his language."
