If the candidates for the Oval Office really do like the Bible as much as they say they do, they should be able to take these verses to heart.

1. Matthew 5:44-45b

"But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in Heaven …"

2. 1 Corinthians 9:24

"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize."

3. Luke 6:22

"Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake."

4. Matthew 7:12

"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the law and the Prophets."

5. Matthew 5:22

"But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother, 'Raca,' is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of Hell."
