5 Celebrities You Didn't Know Were Christians

Recently, being born again seems to have become an "in" thing for Hollywood, with celebrities left and right professing to have been spiritually renewed, only to be caught in the next drug or marital scandal. But there are famous people who, after having their taste of fame and fortune, have quietly led a life following Christ and His teachings.

1. Chris Tucker

One of the box-office hits made by this fast-talking comedian was "Next Friday" in 2000. Two years later, he refused to reprise his role as Smokey for the sequel "Friday After Next" because he had become born again by then. God seemed to have blessed him for not being ashamed of his faith as Chris became the highest paid actor in Hollywood in 2006.

2. MC Hammer

If you're a child of the '90s and wondered why DJs used to mix Christian hip-hop with the song "Can't Touch This," it's because its singer is born again. The 53-year-old rapper now prefers Gospel music and has been ordained as a preacher of Church of God in Christ.

3. Candace Cameron-Bure

The "Fuller House" star is very outspoken about her faith and even maintains a website where she tells everyone about it. Recently however, Candace received flak for her "un-Christian" character in the sitcom.

4. Stephen Baldwin

This heartthrob action star became famous in the '90s for his suspense-thriller movies. In his biography "The Unusual Suspects," Stephen narrated how he became born again after 9/11. He last appeared on screen for the faith-based film "I'm in Love with a Church Girl" in 2013. He now hosts a conservative Christian talk-radio show on weekends.

5. Leigh Bingham Nash

The lead vocalist of the pop band Sixpence None the Richer which shot to stardom in the 1990s with the now classic hit "Kiss Me." Leigh grew up in a Baptist home and produced the Christian album "Hymns and Sacred Songs" with her band in 2011. She continues to be active in both the Christian and country music scenes.
